Hot Water System Replacement in Warriewood

Upgrade to Instantaneous Gas Hot Water System

When Scott in Warriewood contacted Eze-Flow on 20th March 2026 with an emergency plumbing issue, reporting no hot water, we rearranged our schedule to ensure same-day attendance.

Upon arrival, it was quickly identified that the existing hot water tank had burst and was no longer operational. The property had previously been quoted for a replacement system late last year, however the works were put on hold as the system was still functioning at the time.

With the system now failed, Scott proceeded with an upgrade to a more efficient instantaneous gas hot water system.

The Problem

  • Existing hot water storage tank had burst and was no longer operational
  • Property left without hot water
  • Replacement had previously been recommended but delayed

Eze-Flow Plumbing's Solution

A quotation was provided for a new hot water system, and upon approval, Eze-Flow scheduled installation of a new Rinnai instantaneous gas hot water system for early the following week.

Scott opted to upgrade from a traditional storage tank to an instantaneous gas system, providing several key benefits:

  • Endless hot water on demand
  • No storage tank to rust or fail
  • Only uses gas when needed, improving efficiency
  • 6-star energy efficiency rating

As this occurred on a Friday afternoon, an immediate replacement system could not be installed the same day. To ensure Scott was not left completely without hot water over the weekend, Eze-Flow provided one of our temporary 50L hot water systems as part of our 5-star service — offering clients an interim solution while we arrange and install the permanent unit, with the system supplied and connected to provide limited hot water over the weekend.

The existing failed storage tank was isolated, drained, and disconnected, and removed from site.

The new Rinnai instantaneous unit was installed the following week, including all necessary connections to gas, water, and discharge lines. The system was commissioned and tested to ensure correct and safe operation, confirming there were no gas leaks and delivering continuous hot water to the property.

This upgrade has provided reduced energy usage compared to the previous storage tank system, along with improved access down the side of the house, with the bulky tank removed and replaced by a compact wall-mounted unit.

When Holly in Warriewood on Sydney’s Northern Beaches engaged Eze-Flow to address ongoing drainage issues around her property, the backyard had been experiencing constant water pooling and flooding in the backyard during heavy rain. Holly initially described the issue as a “very wet portion of the backyard”, suspecting additional aggy lines may be required. With new paving planned, there were concerns that without proper drainage, heavy rainfall would result in water flowing back toward the house. It was clear the existing stormwater system was not coping and required upgrading before any surface works could proceed. The works were completed in two stages across November 2025 and March 2026, delivering a complete drainage solution across the property.

When a Primary School in Forestville began experiencing extensive stormwater blockages and localised flooding in May 2025, the issue was initially believed to be a simple blockage. Eze-Flow was called in to clear the stormwater system , however after attending site and beginning high-pressure water jetting to clear the multiple lines, it quickly became clear the problem was more complex. Grates were removed from multiple stormwater pits and heavy debris was manually cleared, including built-up soil, tree roots, and rubbish. One of the main pits was completely filled with compacted soil and roots, requiring excavation by hand before the outlet could be cleared. Using high-pressure jetting and CCTV drain inspections, we attempted to cleared both upstream and downstream. During this process, a significant amount of debris was removed, including food wrappers, chip packets, and multiple balls lodged throughout the pipeline. After approximately two hours of continuous jetting, two sections were identified as requiring excavation and repair. CCTV inspection confirmed a collapsed section of pipe, while another section was found to be obstructed by a foreign pipe that had been incorrectly installed into the stormwater line.
